With its clear aligners and innovative technology, Invisalign has transformed the way people achieve a straighter smile. A common question that arises is: Can Invisalign treat all orthodontic issues? Let’s explore the scope of Invisalign treatment, its capabilities, and the orthodontic issues it can effectively address. By understanding the potential of Invisalign, you can make informed decisions about whether it is the right orthodontic treatment for your specific needs.

How Can Invisalign Fix an OverbiteOrthodontic Issues Invisalign Can Treat

Invisalign is highly versatile and can effectively address a wide range of orthodontic issues. While it may not be suitable for all cases, it can treat many common dental misalignments. Let’s explore some of the orthodontic issues Invisalign can successfully correct:

Mild to Moderate Crowding

Invisalign is an excellent option for individuals with mild to moderate crowding. Crowded teeth occur when there is insufficient space for the teeth to align properly, resulting in overlapping or rotated teeth. Invisalign aligners gently exert pressure on the teeth, gradually creating the space needed for proper alignment. The aligners are customised to fit snugly over the teeth, applying precise force toguide them into their optimal positions.

Gaps Between Teeth

Invisalign is also effective in closing gaps between teeth, known as diastemas. Whether you have small gaps or more significant spacing issues, Invisalign aligners can be customised to gradually shift the teeth closer together, closing the gaps and creating a harmonious smile.

Overbites and Underbites

Overbites and underbites are common bite issues that can affect both the aesthetics and functionality of the smile. An overbite occurs when the upper front teeth overlap the lower front teeth, while an underbite involves the lower front teeth protruding ahead of the upper front teeth. Invisalign can address these bite misalignments by applying controlled forces to reposition the teeth and jaws, improving both the appearance and function of the bite.

Crossbites

Crossbites occur when one or more of the upper teeth sit inside the lower teeth instead of outside. This misalignment can lead to functional problems and an uneven appearance. Invisalign aligners can be designed to correct crossbites by gradually shifting the affected teeth into their proper positions, bringing the upper and lower jaws into proper alignment.

Open Bites

An open bite is characterised by a gap between the upper and lower teeth when the jaws are closed. This can be caused by various factors, including habits like thumb-sucking or tongue thrusting. Invisalign treatment can address open bites by guiding the teeth into the correct positions, allowing the upper and lower teeth to meet properly when biting down.

Great dentist and hygienist, however the waiting room had no wifi (and no signal) which meant I couldn’t work when waiting. When I asked if there was wifi, I was just told ‘no’ by the receptionist. I was going to add a suggestion to the box, but there was no pen.

I have attended this practice for many years and I never fail to be impressed by the quality of the work carried out by both the dentists and the dental hygienists. Procedures are explained clearly and in such a friendly manner. And most importantly despite having some major work carried out on a few occasions I did not feel any pain during, or after, the treatment. I would also like to pont out that the reception staff are so efficient, friendly and most helpful. This is an outstanding dental practice.
